Why We Do Not Add Essential Oils to Candles
Share
What "essential" means
Essential oils are concentrated plant extracts that carry a plant's aromatic character. The word "essential" refers to the essence or scent of the plant, not that the oil is necessary for wellbeing.
Why we do not add them to candles
When fragrance oils or essential oils are heated, their compounds can change. Indoor air research shows that combustion, ventilation, room size and burn time all matter, so our approach is simple: we make candles without added fragrance oils or essential oils.
Our approach
Pure Soy candles use soy wax. Clean Bee candles use 100% beeswax. Both ranges are hand-poured in Northern Ireland with lead-free cotton wicks and amber glass vessels.
Candle safety
Fragrance-free does not remove the need for normal candle safety. All candles are open flames. Never leave a burning candle unattended. Keep away from children, pets, draughts and flammable materials, and stop use if discomfort occurs.
